Curious about the possibility of selling some of your special vintage items at Good Day Shop?

SECONDHAND GOODS
Good Day Shop focuses on handmade goods from local makers.
We enjoy curating a limited collection of secondhand items, but have to be very selective about which secondhand goods we accept; secondhand items cannot come to dominate a space that exists to support local makers. We certainly don’t say this to discourage you from submitting your goods for consideration! We say it only to set realistic expectations. As long as you understand we end up having to say no to most secondhand stuff, & you won’t be completely crushed if that’s what happens with yours, we totally encourage you to click the button below, which will take you to the submission form for secondhand sellers. Show us your treasures, please! We would love to take them in if they fit with our vision & there’s space for them in the shop.
What do we tend to be most keen to accept?
Hey, great question!
We like in-season clothing without damage, & we especially appreciate when you bring us a variety of sizes. This does include children’s clothing, although we are even more selective with that than we are with adult sizes.
Similarly, we like in-season accessories: hats, scarves, sunglasses, watches, socks, shoes, bags, jewelry, etc.
We like lifestyle goods: quality blankets & throw pillows in great condition, novelty playing card decks, fully functional cameras, unique storage containers, interesting lamps, wall art, clocks, toy instruments . . . BOOKS! Please show us your books. Once more for emphasis: Please show us your books.
We like other practical items: picture frames, scissors and other small, high quality tools in good condition, unused art and craft supplies, personal care products if they are still sealed and not nearing an expiration date and not containing any objectionable ingredients, and we are nearly always eager to accept issues of National Geographic*.
*Please note that while everything else is on consignment, we will buy your NatGeos outright for fifty cents apiece — but only when there’s room for them in our magazine crate. And we want them only if they’re in good condition.
Is there anything we pretty much never accept?
Also a great question. Let’s not waste anyone’s time.
We won’t take anything that is in need of TLC.
We won’t take out-of-sesason clothing or accessories.
We won’t take anything with words or images that could be construed as hateful.
We won’t take “collectibles” such as porcelain figurines or China dishes. We won’t accept much in the way of tablewares unless they’re quite special.
We don’t have space to accommodate much furniture, although we do appreciate having the option to consider it — we’ll find a way to create space for the perfect piece if the perfect piece is out there!
